Rosea Dans
Rosea Dans is a three-year development project whose vision is to establish itself as a dance ensemble at Sjöängen Askersund cultural center. The ensemble consists of professional dancers who have a regional connection to Örebro county in some way. Auditions are held in the spring each year as dancers have the opportunity to apply for the ensemble. The next application is due in the spring of 2025.
The ensemble works with in-depth thematic research during longer work periods and premieres on Sjöängen's main stage and then embarks on an annual county tour. The tour hits several cities and caters to both the young and the older audience. The tournament aims to spread dance performance art to all people in the entire county, regardless of geographical location.
The themes investigated in the first years are "object, body and its relationship, through a phenomenological perspective", "anatomy and nature" and "listening as movement". Collective work methods and a focus on choreography as practice are the dancers' challenges. They improvise, reflect and create in an equal creative environment.
In addition to genuine research processes and performances, open rehearsals are held for art students and free cultural practitioners as well as workshops and public talks for the public.
Near Sjöängen is the nature reserve Fagertärn in which the unusual red water lily grows, hence the name Rosea Dans. Näckrosen is a well-known destination for many and eventually Rosea Dans too!
